Flowers

I walked in an open field The sun was shining down Warming my face- Our faces, actually We were walking, hand in hand We were talking, side by side Eternity could be spent with you And smelling pretty flowers Deep as the scent of blood And I forget, for just a moment That mortality isn’t just a ‘gift’ It’s equally a curse. So I let seeds lift Into roots, Into flowers And turn our eternal love, Your mortal life, Into flowers.
