Flowers

Sat, 01/15/2022 - 00:34 -- Jaemak1

All I ever did was give you everything I had to give

The Flower, just a sprout

I let you hold my budding heart

Those petals were promises

that you plucked

without a thought

The stem was a slow self confidence

that you cut

and drowned in murky water

The sweet aroma of my love

that now stinks of rotten fruit

I tried to be so fruitful for you

but I was never sweet or supple enough

Who knew that a broken promise

could kill a garden

of soon to bloom

Flowers
