Flowers Fall Like Rain

When this is over,

and you don’t have to lie,

we both know

this was always a ticking timer.

But when this is over,

I wish You and I could both think of

--not the thunder of our fights--

--not the cold and lonely nights in the rainfall--

but

The joyous walks through the park,

smiles peeking

underneath the soft breeze

golden flowers drifting around us.
