Flown Away
the bird lives in the nest all of its young life.
sheltered from the harsh realities
and from the beauty of love.
painful but rewarding.
learning that trying to plan every second of your future just isn't worth the stress
learning to make the most of what you have because it might not be there tomorrow
embracing the hardships of life and of love
and opening your eyes and your heart to the magnificence of forgiveness.
the heart is like a flower,
each memory it holds make up it's petals.
one rough wind,
one rough devastating event,
and the flower wilts,
descending onto the dry soil where it withers away
and is left to me trampled on and crushed without care.
the little bird aches from the troubles of heartbreak.
the pain doesn't go away as quickly as the flower falls.
acceptance, understanding, and forgiveness.
the bird can finally be free of its misery
and fly away to find a more beautiful life
but it will always cherish the beauty and sensitivity of the flower.
