To Fly.
Cigarettes
Coffee breath
Taking time to fix her mess
Sloppy hair
And smudged makeup
Shaking hands
And ragged breaths
Bloody knuckles
Bruised knees
Pale skin and smooth cheeks
Smoke flowing from her nose
High
High on her pain
Trying to make it go away
Anger rages
Feeling faded
Sitting in the dark
Counting her scars
The throb in her head never ceases
Everyone is too blind to see it
She's dying inside
She can't believe it
They think she has all these great achievements
Little do they know
She's really just hiding below the surface
With a broken heart
And her smile never meeting her eyes
She closes her eyes
And tries not to cry
Why the hell can't he choose her
She's angry and alone
Scared and confused
She wants to scream
She wants to cry
She wants to punch the wall, until her bones shatter
Until her hands break
Until she crumbles in a ball
She's losing it all
Unable to contain it
She has a hard time constraining it
She just wants to cry
And she thinks about death
But yet
She's too scared to die
But she so desperately longs
To fly.
