Fly Away

One time she leaned in, As if to say "I got this" Shake that off a soft kiss, Trembled from his soft lips. Put your hand around her waist, Don't let it shake, Make no mistake, But think too fast, it's just too late. He pulled away, He couldn't stay. She tugged his arm, But to no alarm, He told her bout the best day. He ever had, He wasnt sad, But glad to be with her in fact. Promises and holding hands can understand, But never plan, the power that consumes them now. To no avow, to know a vow, is to love and to trust and forget somehow, baggage that escapes them now. One time she loved him, In assumption, Thought he wouldn't care, To feel or share, How he felt when they were there. She hugged him tight- and dug her nails into his back, taken aback, he smelled her hair and gasped for air. Her beauty. Was too much for him to touch or even think about as such. So on that day, it was okay. To laugh And cry and share and pray, And hopefully they will grow old, And notice that it's worth the cold, To drift, And float, And fly away.
