Fly Away With Me
In a world falling apart in peals of rolling thunder,
There is only one way to avoid being pulled under,
Only one way to keep from being torn asunder.
Fly away with me to darkling heights,
Far away from the thunder and throbbing lights,
To where stars shimmer in dark and quiet nights.
Fly away on a swift and mighty steed,
Far away from all reckless desires and pointless needs,
To where naught matters but the sound of the wind in the grass and reeds.
Fly away into the night,
For a moment, forget your fright,
And let naught but his mane fill your sight.
Let not your mind be filled with dark, brooding thoughts,
Breathe in the clean, clear air in deep, peaceful draughts,
And remember that the life you left behind is all for naught.
It is here that life should be,
In the wild, under the trees, absolutely free.
If only people weren’t so blind and could truly see.
Come, fly away with me to a distant shore,
Where your troubles and worries will be no more,
And where eternal love will always be sure.
In the quiet, listen to the rain gently falling down,
With a soft, melodious, hypnotic sound,
And turn your mind around,
From dark, unpleasant things,
To beautiful, unadulterated dreams,
Stitching invisible wounds coming apart at the seams.
In this world, swiftly breaking away,
In fragments, pieces shining in the sun’s rays,
Never forget what happened, or what may.
Never forget the past,
For it is memories that last,
Even while flying away, flying so fast.
Fly away with me, fly into the future, not from the past.
