To Fly (Villanelle)

It is always a dream to fly, to lift off of your toes a little more and jump into the sky. You fail if you don't try to expose yourself and soar like at one-winged fly. Jump fast and defy your inner lion and roar facing upwards towards the sky. Clouds and airplanes all pass by through the air which they tore all of them can fly. But why can't I? All of these things I adore but I cannot touch the sky. If I jump, I will die by crashing on the floor. It is simple, we can't fly we eventually fall out of the sky.

I was required to write this poem for AP Literature and Composition class in high school and decided to enter it in.
