Flying

Flying

Responsibilities grew heavy,

money grew tight.

The world was no longer the safe space

Mom gave me.

Three-hundred pounds, and looking for a way out of a small town,

I watched as the pounds fell off and led me out.

Out of the pastures where they taught me how to fly

Boy it’s been some bullshit

But here I am

Flying high,

Running free,

a kid no more.
