Flying Over Concrete

My wheels are rolling

The world around me does not materialize

Only what's in front of me

My thoughts are non-existent

As are the cracks in the sidewalk

And every pebble beneath me

All I feel is the air passing

The sound of my music drowns out the click clacking

This plank of wood below me

Is the constant in my life that I'm the one controlling

Any want of escape

Or need of a break

Any long day will send me back to this place

My feet off the ground

And the wind in my face

The world fades away

With every step that I take
