Fog

I look outside and see him there waiting for me. Excited, I hurry to get dressed. I slip out of my house, quietly and unnoticed. I go into the cold December morning, And am engulfed by him. I step onto the road and start running. He is with me, In the past, the present and the future. The further I go, the less he is there, Until I break free and can see Clearly for the first time. It is refreshing at first, But then I miss him. I turn around and run faster towards him. But the lighter it gets, the harder it is to find him. I am almost home when I run into him again. He makes me feel safe. When I am with him, it is the only time I am able to focus on now. I turn onto my street, but he does not turn with me. Instead he travels on, toward the darker corners of the morning)
