The Fog

From nowhere it comes
And to nowhere it goes
A good friend is always around

It descends thick on my mind and
Suddenly
Nothing makes sense

Am I here? Am I crazy? Am I even real?

The rules have changed

The world a cloud
Shapes and colors brush past me
Muffled sounds of conversation
It is a blur
I escape inside myself to think
But can't
I am catatonic
My mind is frigid

I wait

All I know is this is it
It is always this is it

I wait

Until it passes

I wait

I am conscious
But comatose

It is the fog
