Follow Thy Heart
Just as the eagle uses the stars to navigate the mid-nights dark,
I will follow thy heart on what ever journey it may embark,
to get to you I would travel across the mighty seas,
riding the waves with my sails filled by the oceans breeze,
troubles and strife may cause me to weary,
press forward I must without fear or teary,
though I may falter at times; I will not fail,
for I owe it to thy heart only to prevail,
as the story unfolds the outcome is uncertain,
though it is filled with healing and hurtin',
hatred is a foolish trick played by the mind,
leaving the heart callous, empty and blind,
happiness stems from the joy life produces,
subtracting the anger and pain that love reduces,
the gifts that life brings should be accepted and cherished,
so I shall enjoy all these gifts before they are perished,
your presence, your laugh, your beauty, your charm,
continues my desire to run to your arms,
yes we will laugh, we will cry, we will fight,
but we can't let the darkness block out the light,
from the first day we met, I knew it was true love from the start,
It is that same love that makes me follow thy heart.
