Food for Thought
The restaurant was cold and isolated
Its doors squeaked with agony when I pushed them open
The waiter stared at me with persistence, compelling me to use my uneven nails to fix his untreatable heart
I tried for months, and when I was not able to fulfill his one wish
He forced an unthawed, dry salad down my throat
As I bit the leafy green lettuce, I began to choke
Choke on the words that were never able to come out correctly
Tears started to form- the smell of the expired ranch filled my lungs with toxic fumes
The waiter turned his back on me when I reached out for help
Days later, I went back to the restaurant to give suggestions
Instead, the waiter used some strong silver tape to shut my mouth closed
The restaurant claimed that their salads were fresh and healthy
But it bittered me to the core and left me crying on the floor
It claimed to only put love into my soul
So why was I reaching for chocolate besides salads?
Why was I walking into the Willy Wonka Factory instead of Salads for All?
Lies- those salads were not just for anyone
It was for those who are closed minded
The salads were for those who could not see beyond the horizon
The unhealthy salad was not for me
