Foodie

Childhood me refused all greens

And colorful veggies too

And while we're at it

Let's add fish and most fruits

My mother really didn't know what to do

So that mentally stayed

Till my college days drew near

Dining hall food was all there was

I struggled to eat healthy

The answer was pretty clear

"Just try it" my friends beg

as they shove a salad in my face

I grimaced, I groaned

But eventually I said

"Alright, I'll give it a taste"

To my surprise, but really

Everyone else already knew

The salad was not terrible

Maybe actually good

I knew what I had to do

Now on I eat salads often

And I've learned to love them so

Foods I that won't try now?

Really, there's only a few

My new found foodie-ness

Leaves my family in shock

But what can I say

The transition to college

Really can change alot
