Foolish Love

Love.

How foolish of a thought

To think I would succumb to it

Love is one thing, a beautiful thing

To love is another

I gave him my rose, my heart

To show my love and worth

Can you believe it?

Followed by a soft “I love you”

Never before did I say such a thing

For him to toss it aside

Like it wasn't worth a thing

Can you believe it?
