Psalm 127:1 New English Translation (NET Bible)

Psalm 127

A song of ascents; by Solomon.

127 If the Lord does not build a house,
then those who build it work in vain.
If the Lord does not guard a city,
then the watchman stands guard in vain.

Satire

Building with stones of emptiness a sacred full house

Well insulated to preserve a cold-cold heart

Only one room needed if one has a spouse

And some kids to follow than with a similar heart

Fruit falls not far from the tree as it bears it

Character often grows in the underbrush

The law of averages will so freely share this

As society in time will be groomed with such

Polish a heart of stone and it will surely shine

Carve in it the future and so it can’t be removed

Followed by little pebbles too small to be refined

And in such to nurture the downfall of the fools
