Fools For Love
When I was eight,
my brother dated a gold digger,
He was wrapped up
around her dirty little finger
When I was sixteen,
my mother found another man,
He was a drunkard
who had no dreams, no plan
When I was twenty-four,
my best friend got a divorce,
Her husband was abusive
who always hits her with force
When I was thirty-two,
I met the guy of my dreams,
But I was too naive,
Not everything was as it seems
I thought it was different,
that my kind of love was true,
Who would've thought
that is was nothing new?
I used to call them stupid,
for being used like tools,
Turns out I'm just like them,
Guess we're all just lovesick fools.
