Footprints

Footprints

Dark unbearable pain fills your thumping heart

Only you could cure it

But you don’t know how,

He’s left his footprints behind

No matter how hard you try

You can’t get rid of them

They chase you in your dreams

And stop you in reality

He broke you

But you still won’t let go of those footprints

The foot prints that keep you in your pain

The only thing left of him, his prints

You try, but they won’t budge

He has let go,

Moved on

They’re not stuck

They are only taped in front of you

You just have to peel them off

But you won’t, not today or tomorrow, only in time.
