Footprints

Footprints beside us where we walk A hand on our shoulder as we cry A back to carry us like the wind that carries the leaves. Someone beside me rising up my soul Someone freeing my soul from the spec of darkness. A hand above my head like a warm, bright, purified light. On my knees, my head up as if searching for that beautiful light. Someone beside me rising up my soul Someone freeing my soul from the spec of darkness. A warmth touching my heart, soul and mind. Like water grabbing every hard rock Like water washing away my problems Like water washing away my sins Jesus beside me forever, where ever Jesus purifying my soul when darkness consumes it. Jesus carrying me through the hot sand For I now notice why my footprints are not sunk into the sand throughout my journey.
