Footprints in the Ocean
I sweated memories into a bucket,
then poured it into the ocean.
Your heart...I tried to fuck it,
but I didn't have the right motion.
You had no protection,
and I wasn't trying to catch love.
But the water called my name.
It whispered to me that you were on the other side,
so I met you halfway.
And we left footprints in the ocean.
We tried to swim away together,
but the waves washed us away from each other ...
Again, I tried to swim away
Before the sharks came...
But I guess they smelled the blood from our wounded hearts,,,
We began to sink
and before I could blink
we were going down...
At least we left footprints in the ocean ...
Before we drowned.
