Forbidden Fate

I lay here elegantly awaiting my heroic rescue

The prince is coming

But my mind is consumed by you

For years I hoped that my curse would expire

That the witch would die

Or her powers would grow tired

I can’t help but wonder where you are

If you’re still alive

Or if you’ve gone far

All I have to remember is the note that you left me

You came in the night

When you thought I was asleep

I knew that our love would be viewed as a freak show

My father would kill you

I thought it best to let you go

I would have given it all, even my crown

For you to be my bride

And to see you in a wedding gown

So they locked me away with an incurable curse

To wait out your life

Until you lay in a hearse

I’ll never forgive my father for the love he banned

I wish the prince would not to come

This isn’t what we planned

So now I plan to punish them all

I’m taking my life

And the curse shall fall
