Forbidden memories

A place caught and frozen,skewed by the passing of time

Regrets linger here and today I wonder if you could still be mine

I've changed over the years but you are my constant, now in my mind you climb

Like an unwanted guest, I've banished you from my thoughts, I had you in a bind

Yet in a moment of weakness, I allow your presence to fill my weak and feeble mind

I remember being nervous, excited and so full of hope, how was I so blind?

I remember the hurt that made me cynical and more calloused inside

Yet if I allow myself to get lost in the dark place , the forbidden corners of my mind

I find you there, it's so easy to get lost in your gaze

You've taken enough, it's time to bid you goodbye

Your not real, a skewed memory frozen in the passing of time
