FOREHEAD STRIPES OF THE ZEBRA

unique in every spiece

one of a kind in each

diagonally through the nose

seeming parallel only to meet at the back of the horse

bands of black and white

a poet could wonder what you really symbolise

race, colour, gender?

i would say

you symbolise nature's geatest beauty

her marvellous appearence

you separated yourself

from all those domesticated

so as to show your wild beauty

to roam wild as the weather

freed

with no creed

to turn sinister and evil

show your marvellous

black and white beauty

only to rest on

the great zebra's forehead
