In a foreign land

Do you know what it´s like to live in a foreign land to start over knowing no one speaking a new language Then you learn what it feels like to be stared at how to speak a new language what it feels like to gain a family that laughter is the same in every language the importance of family and how much you took your life for granted Then you think about culture about home about time about yourself about friendship about love about time about life You dread and want the end to come not to leave your new family behind not to exit the best year of your life wanting to see your friends and family wanting to eat your mom´s food wanting to sleep in your own bed. You go home, your first home at least sleep in your own bed see your family hang out with your friends but you never forget how you changed the people that impacted you what you learned about the world and how similar we all are
