Foreign to Me

The idea of a healthy relationship is foreign to me

If asked “What do you want a man to be to you?”

I would reply “Crazy”

The idea of someone caring is foreign to me

To have a man want more than just my body

I would reply “Absurd”

The idea of someone wanting to know what I want is foreign to me

Having a man ask me “What do you want in life?”

Chuckling, “Do you want to know or just get into my bed?”

The idea of someone staying is foreign to me

Hearing him whisper “I won’t run away.”

I would sob in disbelief

The idea of a healthy relationship is foreign to me

When he asked “Do you love me?”

I would always say “Yes”
