the foreigner

flew half way around the world

to come to the unknown

no one to hold her hand

except the strangers who gave her a home

she takes the top bunk

to be the bigger man

little did she know the ladder won't let her stand

starting school is fun

seeing all your friends

but not when you're the new kid

or from a foreign land

new senses enter her life

while her accent fades away

her heart aches for her family's hugs

which soon gets replaced for her new sister's love

the bond grows stronger as the months go on

the sun, moon and stars have all rised and set along

seasons changed

time has past

but the one thing that remained

was their soulmates path

soulmates aren't always romantic

they can be friends and family too

but once these two girls met

their hearts just knew

an ocean apart

and miles away

they were meant to meet

it was God's fait

one didn't know how to love

while the other didn't know how to feel

so they taught eachother

to let their other half heal

the year they thought they had together

turned into eight months and stealing eachother's sweater

when a pandemic came through and tore us apart

it made us realize that we are sisters connected by the heart

all that was left were some clothes left behind

and the memories created that will never leave our minds

seven months later i'm here writing this poem

to tell my sister i miss her and to just come home
