Foreshadowing
I looked on my calendar to the upcoming year
And found your name no here to be near.
Had me in a state of confusion.
Little did I know of your heart's evolution.
I busied myself trying to place it there
But no matter what, it just wouldn't appear.
Now that what was between us has gone blue,
I began to wonder if that was my cue.
We talked of what was to come.
Little did we know that we would see none.
Baby names and marriage plans began to surface
But served no purpose.
You gave me high hopes and expectations
But you destroyed our very foundation.
I thought it was just a mere blunder;
One that could be fixed like every other.
Before the words were even spoken,
The world around me knew what was about to be broken.
