Foreshadowing

With his hands and his words he ensured me of the impossible. The combination was written in the walls of the building he had burned. He had salted the earth, but the wildflowers still grew. He had abandoned the house, but it was still my home. Ash and ember covered our hands, our lungs, our minds, our words. Blackening and burnt sweethearts tried to break the silence broken by the birds. Our scars were no longer our beauty. He was healed, I was dying. There was nothing left to do but give up on eachother. "i" undotted "t" uncrossed as we smashed the night sky and let what was certain become our demise. Tearing at the stars, demolishing the moon and destroying each and every trace that our little world ever existed. Because it never did. He was the earth, the sun, and the moon. There were universes behind his eyelids and I was merely living in one broken solar system. All I wanted was one piece of my heart to myself. He taught me I never had a heart to begin with. All I was. All I knew how to be was his.
