Forever

We've been here before, Gone one day then back for more. But I could never shut you out, One of the few I always cared about. It's so cold and dark out here tonight, But you're by my side, so warm, so bright. I'm free from it all when I'm with you, The hurt, the pain, the worries too. I've never been more confident or afraid, Thinking to myself how I should've stayed. But that was then and this is now, Thinking about this moment, wondering how. You're the best thing to happen to me, The one that guides me when I'm lost at sea. And it's been a while since we've been here, But there's nothing as lovely as having you near. I don't know where this is gonna lead, But if you're with me, I've all I need. So hold your breath for what may come tomorrow, Laughter, love, and a lack of sorrow. All I can hope is you still feel the same, That you might smile when you hear my name. I always believed we could be forever, Just you and I, in love, tethered together.
