Forever Alone

Talk and chatter
Giggles and laughs
My friends don’t seem to see me
I sit alone in a dark corner
No one seems to get me

Someone notices my gloom
“What’s wrong with you?” they ask
I turn and glare
They balk then stare
Those filthy hypocrites

Then they say I’m always cranky
That I always need a hanky
When really it’s all their fault
They banter and talk, ignore me with no shame
To the point where I want to hide in a vault

Then I ask,
AM I INVISIBLE?
The thought chills me to the bone
I’m surrounded by people,
And yet I’ve never felt more alone
