Forever alone

Why am I the way I am? Why do I want to cry when I'm not near him? Why do I find it so hard to say, "I think I may love you... I want you to stay!" Why do I shy away... At the very thought of you here with me... They say I'm beautiful. They say I'm smart. Why can't I take those opinions to heart? They wish me to smile. So I smile all day. If only a smile made the pain go away! I may not bleed, Or scream his name, But I cry at night to stamp the pain. They tell me I'm fine. I think I'm insane. How can I fall for a boy I can't claim? I think I may love him... But how would I know? I'm young. I'm stupid. I'm forever alone. They say I'm beautiful. They say I'm smart. Why can't I take those opinions to heart? If I begin to talk. Attempt to start. I just know I'll fall apart. Day after day I play my part... They wish me to smile. So I smile all day. If only a smile made the pain go away. They tell me I'm fine. I think I'm insane. How could I fall for a boy I can't claim? I think I may love him, But how would I know? I'm young. I'm stupid. I'm forever alone.
