Forever and Always

To my Wife,

In my life,

I have been told what is supposed

to matter most.

Family, friends and happiness

are all things we hold close

to our hearts.

Never letting go.

As these things have left my life,

I have found myself yearning

for them to return only to learn

they never will.

They are replaced with a heavy fog

in which much of me has been lost.

With me, I carry the memories I have left.

Never letting go.

But the fog takes those too you see,

and all I find myself remembering

is the way you used to hold me.

Never letting go.

It may be

that all my memories will soon

leave me,

but you will remain safely

in my heart.

Remember I will always love you,

and will see you again

when my time here is also through.

I can't wait to hold you again,

and this time,

I will Never let go.
