"Forever and a Day"

I will make your bed when you are sad,

And make you laugh when you mad;

I will do all of these and be glad

Because I love you.

 

When you stub your toe and shed a tear

Or close your beautiful eyes out of fear,

I will protect you from any harm that may come near

Because I love you.

 

I will love you forever and a day,

I will prove my love in every way.

I will do these things as I will always stay,

Because I love you.

 

You may question the words I speak,

But please do not turn the other cheek.

For I promise to be with you every week

There may come a day where we will part;

And there may be a few doubts in your heart,

If I was truly the one from the start.

If that day ever rears it’s ugly head,

And you walk alone to your made bed,

I will sing you the message I wanted to spread

Because I love you.

 

As I lay next to you in years to come 

And trace your delicate features with my thumb,

My heart beats against my chest like a drum.

I whisper you in your ear the promises I say;
