Forever is Fleeting

And So It Began

So simple, so plain

Intoxicating innocence inversing inhibition

Just a smile, then a step

Beauty hiding in a dress, admonishing attention

Advertising availability and

Assurance

Grateful eyes gleaming

Every ones’ someone

Except you’re no one

“Just a friend”

Stole your heart then

Then closer, closer to you

Staying the whole night through

Waking up, more than just a friend.

Passive dreams, played out scenes

Ignoring the obvious, the outlandish

Thought of love

Burdens and Butterflies dancing

Fluttering to the beat of their heart

Sitting too close, staring too long

Spending too much, sleeping too little

Knowing just enough

But not enough to know

Waking up again, this time

alone.
