It's a cold night and there's a knock on my door
I open it up to see a face I used to know before
The rain pours down hard on your shoulders
It's only been a little while but you've grown a lot older
Seeing you sends me back down memory lane
And in this split second I relive all the pain
There's a curious look of shame in your eyes
Is it all part of your disguise, just more of your lies?
You tell me you're sorry, you want me back
But did you ever think maybe I don't want that
Back when I said I never wanted to see you again
I meant it forever not only for then
So finally you turn, ready to leave
Your face covered in a look of defeat
Cast one last look back as you go
This hurts me too, I want you to know
Sorrow and pain are what we feel
But with time everything heals
