Forever Growing

When I was young I was taught to rhyme

To put my imagination on paper, forever and all time

Never once did this passion fail to help me through

So I kept it near my heart and now I’ll share with you

Poetry helped me grow through the darkest of times

Darkness dimmed from the light I never thought I’d find

Through the ink I lined on that tear stained paper,

I found myself, strong then, even stronger later

It taught me to be free, to rise above

So I can always share my thoughts, some of darkness, some of love

But I know it’ll always be there for me, as this season will always last

Growing now into a flower, from that sorrow filled grass

You have taught me to express myself and to expand my mind

You gave me a sense of hope, something that was hard to find

You will always be there for me, that I always know

You will never leave me, I’ll never have to see you go

Nothing last forever, but this flower shall never die

I can thank you now, as I’m rhyming from the sky
