Forever Home
the way someone can be there all the time
then suddenly not
the memories of them
laughing
smiling
yelling
teaching
hugging
they all seem to become a blur after some time
or bring tears streaming down the face that was once dry
running mascara
smeared makeup
drippy nose
hours of crying in your pillow
of dreading the things you never did with them
the last “I love you”
the last laugh
the last hug and kiss
that’s all you can think about
how they will never take another step on the same ground your feet are planted on
how they will never take another breath the same time you do
how they will never see the next president
or your new favorite dish to make
or even here your wedding or love song one last time
they will never see the future you worked towards as a kid
its ok though
there’s a reason
a reason that person is gone
they were needed
needed by some one important
the someone is
GOD
he didn’t mean to cause so much heart ache
but he needed help
the help from one person in particular
that person is in a forever home
watching over everything you do
they aren’t really gone
the word gone is mis-used
it’s not the right word
because that person isn’t gone
