To Forget You

Every time I’m with you, I feel it building up. You know I’d never hurt you, So why not open up? You deserve one who smiles, Who doesn’t loose tears. Someone that all the while, Knew you’d calm their fears. My heart isn’t wild, unbroken or even free. Can I even imagine, it would if you loved me? Just forget your eyes, forget your hair. Forget about how much I care Forget your smile forget your kiss Forget everything I miss Just Forget your hand holdin mine, And Forget about all of the times… Forget your laugh, forget your charm, Forget how much you healed my heart. Forget the smiles, forget the tears, Forget how much I wish you here. Forget your smell, forget your touch... Still sometimes forgetting is too much My momma always said To close my eyes and sigh. If he’s stuck inside my head, Then there’s a reason why. So many places, my memories rewind. Still, I try to block your memory from coming to my mind. My love will never die The sun comes out after rain. Even after time gone by, After my hurt, after my pain. When I dream, I can’t help but feel near you, And when I close my eyes I cant help but hear you. I’ll lie down at night, Just to close my eyes Trying to forget our fights, I tell myself lies. And Even though my heart don’t remain still, I tell myself that I will... Just forget your eyes, forget your hair. Forget about how much I care Forget your smile forget your kiss Forget everything I miss Just Forget your hand holdin mine! And Forget about all of the times… Forget your laugh, forget your charm, Forget how much you healed my heart. Forget the smiles, forget the tears, Forget how much I wish you here. Forget your smell, forget your touch... Still sometimes forgetting is too much When doing something as simple As spending time with friends, Visions of you come, And seem to never end. I cannot live this life wounded and alone. But I still continue hoping My true feelings left unshown. I can’t believe my lies. Because I’m looking in your eyes, I have told myself the truth: I’ll always forget to forget you.
