Forgetting to Love

Because I love you,

will you trust me,

I will trust you too.

Because I love you,

will you smile for me,

I'll smile for you too.

Because I love you,

go have fun with your friends,

I'll have fun with mine too.

Because I love you,

stay safe

I'll stay safe too.

Because I love you,

please stop yelling,

I don't yell at you.

Because I love you,

Please stop hitting me,

I'm too bruised.

Because I love you,

Please put the gun away,

I'm scared I don't want to stay.

Because I love myself,

I need to leave,

because you forgot to love me.
