Forgetting When You Were Mine

They say I'll be fine.

That soon you'll be but a memory.

But I miss your smile, the way it was kind.

I don't want to forget

The feelings I felt

And the things that I said.

I want to feel your hand

Holding mine again.

But the thought I can't stand,

Is that while I'm torn up inside,

You might be forgetting the time when you were mine.

I'm a new poet and I know my poems could use a lot of work. I can take critiques but not ridicule, thanks.
