Forgetting You

I promise,

I swear,

I will forget you.

I will drown the memories,

with the whiskey on my shelf.

I will erase the pain,

and I will forget.

I cross my heart

and hope to die,

I will sleep through the night.

I will not wake up,

wishing you were by my side,

I will forget you.
