forgive me,world
forgive me,world, for I have wronged you.
forgiveness for the beautiful oceans and tides pulling in,
now pushed back by our nonchalance.
Forgive us world, for the ghosts of our past
Are now coming for us.
Forgive us for the flowers once pink,
now wilted and disintegrated
Forgive us for the forests
burning
forgive us world, for we have wronged you.
Forgive the toxicity floating above our heads,
the wishful tones of a beautiful bird toned down
to a mere whisper.
Forgive the oil in the sea, a monster emerging
from the depths of human nature.
forgive me world, for the sun no longer shines
the way it used to.
Forgive me world, because the salt of the sea
is now a sting, rather than a glorious feeling.
Forgive me world, for the animals we once cherished
are brawling to keep their lives.
Forgive us world, because we have destroyed you. Forgive us.
