Forgiven

So many things unsaid

So many thoughts running through my head

I've tried to let go of them now

and believe it will get better somehow.

The past is all in the past,

but even as I say that it's hard to look back.

I can't say we haven't changed.

Situations tend to bring out the worst in us.

At first it was easy to ignore.

Just put on an act as you slam the door.

But it's gotten so hard to see

the clarity of what was meant to be.

I will love you, and I will forgive you

Even when the words haven't come.

Even when things only bring us down,

I'll hold on to the truth,

and hope that one day you'll forgive me too.
