Forgiveness

I ask The Lord for someone I cannot handle

My heart is now and forever guarded because I lock her away

She yearns to get out from the  rooms of my heart

She cries as I kick people out and let no one in

She shouts for me to let her free

There are times where I push her down and tell her to be quiet

Other times I want to let her free to bask in the light of joy

But with a heart of regret and bitterness

I keep her buried and hidden

She constantly sets the room ablaze with hope

But I am to afraid of who she will let in if I set her free

Her name is Forgiveness
