Forgotten

You leave, choking on unspoken words You saved these buried handprints, forever etched into your every being You would trade all your grief for a better tomorrow, Drunk off the brokenness inside Tried to let you down gently, but your so fragile, you fell like hell's rain, You try your best to forget, that you can't go home again Your letting yourself down Held against your forgotten self You cry out to heaven's rays Nail by nail and board by board, your dreams were covered up and lost, always pulling you down Out here, you find nothing but empty memories You wish to become someone else, even just for one last time You cry for help but your cries are left silent A burning in your throat, A sting in your red puffy eyes, Gasping for air as you suffocate Inside.
