Forgotten Country

Ever since I left,

my home town,

I never thought, that

it would make much,

difference,

despite my absence.

But I have started to feel,

the sense of absence,

within me.

When I close my eyes,

and contemplate,

what is it that bothers me,

that I may’ve missed?

I tell you,

It is the sweet memories,

that slowly unfold,

from the good old days,

that are very dear to me.

I have come all this way,

But, I won't regret,

for living so far away,

because I get,

to see life as it is,

that, perhaps, I would

never have,

realized it otherwise.
