Forgotten Friend

I can’t remember clearly when,

but at some point we drifted apart.

You with your insulting remarks,

me with my willing heart.

I can’t remember clearly,

when your words cut deep.

They had once been calming,

but now they only bring tears.

I can’t remember,

clearly you don’t care.

The tears only affect one of us,

and only one heart is broken.

I

cannot

remember

clearly

when

we

used

to

be…

FRIENDS.
