The Forgotten Gods

The Gods who once had the world in their hands now struggle

No one believes anymore

No one cares anymore

Instead of prayers to them,

They are being told they are fake, and unreal

What once was cared for is now destroyed

Posiedon chokes on oil and is weighed down with chains of trash

Hera cries at night at the thought of the broken families that break themselves

Aphrodite resides in constant anger at the men and women who kill themselves

All because they felt they were not beautiful

Where are the Gods now?

They are around, walking in hopes that the people who once worshipped them

Will notice that they were there all along
