Forgotten Poem

Birthdays are special; I know that’s true, because I have decided to say happy birthday to you! It only comes once every year, that’s why it’s a joy to hear someone say to you, “Happy birthday you little dear! I believe you could use some money on this birthday too.” I shall now state as well, although I shall not yell, “Since I forgot you birthday, ahem, I wrote you instead this poem!” Even though I did forget, please don’t quite throttle me yet! You wanted me to remember, because it’s special to you. I tell you I have, and have proven it true. For I took the time to write this poem to you.

I wrote it to one of my friends one time when I had forgotten her birthday. She told me that she appreciated the poem, even though it was about a month past her birthday, and she said that she would hang it up somewhere to remember me by.
